11 Beach Road

11 Beach Road is a waterfront vacation residence in Southampton, conceived as a sequence of horizontal volumes. Each one slides past the next, so the house reads less as a single object than as a composition — a contemporary, parametric reinterpretation of the mid-century modern houses of the Hamptons, its shifting edges echoing the movement of the tides.
The design follows one idea, the “linear half view”. Timber screens, deep frames and long bands of glass edit the landscape, opening every room to the ocean while keeping the private life of the house just out of sight.
Materials are chosen for touch as much as for sight. Timber cladding roots the house in its Hamptons setting, while the decks are laid in Greek marble. Inside, travertine and marble, brought directly from quarries in Italy and Greece, give the interiors a Mediterranean weight. The stone runs through floors, furniture and custom-made details, set against parametric panels whose geometry follows the Fibonacci sequence.
The programme is divided between two buildings. A pool house with garage stands apart from the main residence, which holds guest suites, an open living and dining space joined to indoor and outdoor kitchens, a primary suite, a media room and a rooftop deck, with a gym and cinema at beach level.
